Teresa Johniken currently serves as Adjutant and Treasurer for the DAV Department of Texas. She is a a disabled veteran who has dedicated much of her life to service to veterans. Mrs. Johniken’s experience with helping other veterans began with her multiple years of employment at the Charles Wilson VA Clinic. While employed there she learned about the Disabled American Veterans organization. For the past 25 years Adjutant Johniken has served in many roles including DAV Texas Chapter 84 Member, Commander, Adjutant and Bingo Chair. At the Department level her experience includes Department Commander and her current position as Department Adjutant and Treasurer. She also serves as Trustee for the Flamingo Bingo Accounting Unit. This is a group of charitable organizations, including DAV Department of Texas, who share proceeds from charitable bingo taking place at the Flamingo Bingo in Lufkin, Texas. Having been involved for many years in the National Commander and Adjutant’s Association, Mrs. Johniken became President of the C&A Association this year.
While staying busy with these numerous roles, Mrs. Johniken is still always willing to help veterans with benefits or claims questions when someone stops by the Department Headquarters in Lufkin, Texas. Mrs. Johniken’s experience and service has inspired her family members to also get involved with service to veterans. Her husband, Craig Johniken, currently serves as Auxiliary National Senior Vice Commander. Her son, Timothy Johniken, serves as the Chief-of Staff for the Department of Texas. Mrs. Johniken also proudly claims 3 grandchildren as Auxiliary Junior Members.
