DAV Chapter 81 Commander John Turner and other Veterans received recognition at an Award ceremony in Plano Texas, on November 13, 2022. There were 15 awardees. Each recipient received a flag with their names and service data which was imprinted on a card and attached to one of the 1,111 flags (denoting the 11th hour, 11th day and 11th month of the Armistice) which decorated the field. Each Veteran received a Certificate of Recognition and a copy of the Congressional Record wherein our service data was read into that record before Congress.
